Happy March! This is such a great month to kick off our transition from winter to spring. Who's ready? The best thing about changing seasons is that our skincare and makeup transition as well. Light and breezy colors. Glowing and hydrated skin. I'm ready!
The best way to update your makeup look is with color. Introducing a pop of color works so well for spring. You can pull off pastels and bright colors this season. I personally think color can be worn at all ages and with all skin tones. The goal is to look fresh and not overdone. Color should help enhance your features or highlight specific features of your face.
My best advice is to update one item in your everyday makeup routine. Try a colored mascara instead of black. Or try adding a bright pink lipstick instead of your go-to nude shade. If you add one pop of color, remember to keep everything else natural and neutral.
With this look on Alyssa, we kept her makeup natural and fresh while adding pop of color using Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Mint Julep as her eyeliner (p.s. - if you visit Stila's website this color is currently on sale for $10). I wanted to focus attention on her eyes while allowing her skin to glow and shine through. This look is eye catching, soft, and pretty. Love it! Plus, using a pop of color as eyeliner is a great update to a traditional cat eye!
Welcome spring! Give your makeup look a fun little spring update and try a pop of color. If you do, send us a picture on Instagram. We'd love to see it!
Special thanks to Andrea Montgomery for shadowing with me on this photoshoot and to Alyssa for modeling for us. You ladies are the best!
